As anyone currently looking at my submissions thus far has probably noticed, I am quite serious about entering the realm of videogame design as a career. Being an amateur with no real-world experience in the field means I've got to hunt down anything and everything I can find to learn from and understand it all more.

Well, imagine my surprise when I just happened to run into this blog almost by accident, and learned so much from it, having many "Aha" moments along the way?

THE SONIC PROJECT: An adventure in hypothetical videogame design. sonicdesignproject.blogspot.co…

This was mind-blowing. This guy has at least a few hours of legit reliant experience, yet has been able to understand so much to an incredible degree. The motivations has evolved, and the basis has matured. Originally, the hypothetical concept was to be mostly based on Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2. Yet, over time, those two games became not good enough. Even after the blog went through so much analysis about the genius of both games to such a powerful degree that I never even came close to noticing. That's saying something. Do take a look at this. A personal favorite of mine thus far has been this reverse-engineer idea to get a story to come out that involves the final boss and instantly reminds me of how C.S. Lewis first came up with the entire Chronicles of Narnia series. sonicdesignproject.blogspot.co…

I spent several hours reading this stuff, and I'm not even done, yet. As if that wasn't enough, the blog also pointed to other sources of information and experience that I have just got to get a seriously-solid look at.

A Theory of Fun

On top of all this, I've also got some book called "Reality is Broken (Why games make us better and how they can be used to change the world)" that I've got to start reading. So, I've got so much to be doing, right now! Hopefully, what I've found can assist anyone out there who may have held goals similar to my own. Of course, there's also The Escapist, which I've been to for a while, that also taught me a lot, as well. www.escapistmagazine.com/

Such a pleasant surprise. This has been awesome. Hopefully, it can do something for the rest of you. I should be able to apply pretty much everything here to Koro, Jellybob, Agent Xavier, and various other characters and concepts I hold which I've not yet revealed to all of you!

Even if these were to pass, with every "copyright infringement" they find and tear down, about half a million or so may take its place. All one would need to do is say the name of something copyrighted (be it Half-Life, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Matrix, Oxy Clean or Legos), and they'd feel the need to take it down. Wouldn't such a thing make this uberly impossible to complete? We could say one word, and they'd have to go through the process of "censorship". They'd be outnumbered 1 to 80,000,000,000 or more.

I've discovered some pretty awesome things in my life. And, you know what? Nearly every single one I found out about on the internet. And you know what else? I didn't get that info from the person who created the very thing at the center of the topic.

This vile act violates our first amendment rights, as well as the fair use of copyright. I also found out that they're out to stop piracy with this act. Well, whoop-de-doo! What's that going to accomplish? Pirates weren't exactly obeying the laws before. So, why would they start, now? It's just like when our right to bear arms was denied. Law-abiding citizens obeyed, because, they didn't want to go to jail. However, as little as common thieves didn't care. In fact, they liked it. To them, it just meant that their victims had no way of defending themselves. When this was declared unconstitutional, common citizens had their guns back. Once they had their guns back, criminal activity dropped dramatically.

Now, it's happening again. As if trying to make the internet like a cable package where you could only access certain websites wasn't bad enough. This is the equivalent of someone being hunted down by the FBI, just because, they happened to mention "Half-Life" to their buddy at the cafeteria table. Every jail on the planet would be full in a day, while criminals are left with nowhere to go but their next bank to rob.

Making it illegal to mention on show pictures or anything of the sort that's copyrighted on the internet. This is foolswork.

If SOPA and PIPA are unleashed. How much you wanna bet that thousands, even millions of resistances would sprout up worldwide? We are the people. The very people they are supposed to stand for. We will not stand for this.

I am more than happy to be a part of this early resistance. And, should the need arise, I will continue, with the strength of billions alongside me.
